Statement of Educational Philosophy and Mission
I believe the purpose of education lays the foundation for changing the world, by giving young people the support of a learning community and the structure to safely grow and explore both themselves and the far reaches of their horizons. Through process-based learning, people grow to be confident, self-directed and informed individuals who can reflect on the world around them and see how they can make a positive contribution.
Theater in education and exploration of the performing arts is one of the strongest ways to teach people about the power they hold within themselves. The study of the arts should not just be about perfecting technique but about growing as people and as a community. As a teacher I want to support, encourage and plant the seeds of curiosity and possibility within my students. I want to celebrate the success of every person.
